you and your dog with basic to advanced obedience, as well as with the resolution or management of behavior problems that can make life with your dog less enjoyable.
We have numerous training techniques under our belts, so that we are able to tailor our methods to suit the needs of you and your pet.

Behavior consultations
Behavior consultations is help for dog owners whose canine companions are displaying aggression toward people: Owners or strangers. Aggression toward other animals, (dogs, cats, etc) separation anxiety and other fear or anxiety based behavior problems. The initial behavior consultation is two hours. The cost is $165 for the first session. All follow up sessions are one hour and cost $100.
Manners Training and Puppy Training
Basic manners training sessions are about teaching your adult dog or puppy a set of behaviors that will help shape him or her into a polite and "focused on the owner" companion. Private Manners training lessons include teaching: sit, down, stay, attention to owner around distractions, walking on a loose leash, greeting people politely-jump prevention, coming when called and leaving or relinquishing objects. In addition to manners training a puppy training session includes help with house-training, puppy mouthing, chewing and all other puppy related behavior solutions. Private Manners Training Lessons and Puppy Training Lessons are one hour and cost $100 per lesson.
Beyond Sit, Down, Come
In a basic obedience,
or manners lesson, we work with you to teach your dog how to behave so that they fit best into your lifestyle. This means helping you teach your dog to walk nicely on a loose leash, even if you're headed to the dog run. And it means teaching your dog not to jump up on people, even if they are 4 feet tall and carrying an
ice cream cone. A well-mannered dog knows how to leave the garbage on the street and to drop a chicken bone on cue. And to accept being groomed, having his nails clipped, and being inspected by the vet.
Okay, so one basic obedience session won't make your dog a saint, but what it can do is teach you the consistent and rewarding training methods that will make the life you share with your dog a lot more enjoyable. And, an added benefit to a solid basic training regimen is that it can prevent many commonplace behavioral
problems.
Beyond Bad Manners
If your dog's behavior goes beyond rudeness, Wag the Dog trainers are equipped to assist dog owners with behavioral problems including excessive barking, destructive behavior, house training issues, separation anxiety and aggression (including: Fear Aggression; Dog-on-Dog Aggression; Possessive Aggression-Resource Guarding; Play Aggression) cases. We have had years of experience, and success, treating behavior problems such as these with a variety of training methods. We assess each case thoroughly and are honest about what we can offer in terms of behavior treatment and management.
Wag the Dog also offers free follow-up phone support to clients for the lifetime of their dogs. We want to do what we can to ensure the success of dog-human partnerships. |
